Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about ClarityCommerce. Find answers to the most common questions about our AI commerce operating system.
What exactly is ClarityCommerce?
ClarityCommerce is an autonomous commerce operating system. You tell it your business goals, and it uses AI to monitor, analyze, and execute strategies across your supply chain, marketing, and pricing—so you can focus on high-level growth instead of day-to-day operations.
How is ClarityCommerce different from a regular e-commerce tool?
Most tools are dashboards that require you to interpret data and take action. ClarityCommerce goes further—it interprets the data for you, suggests strategies, and executes them automatically (when you approve). It shifts you from being an operator to a strategic director.
Who is ClarityCommerce built for?
It's built for solopreneurs, indie founders, SMBs, and growing brands who need enterprise-grade intelligence without an enterprise budget. Whether you run one store or manage multiple platforms, the AI scales with your business.
Do I need to be a technical expert to use it?
Not at all. ClarityCommerce is designed for business owners, not engineers. You simply state your objectives in plain English. The AI handles the complex orchestration, API calls, and data analysis behind the scenes.
What does 'autonomous' actually mean in this context?
It means the system can understand your goals, break them down into actionable missions, execute workflows across connected platforms, and learn from outcomes—all with minimal human intervention. You remain in control through the Governance Gate, but the heavy lifting is automated.
Can I trust the AI to make good decisions?
Absolutely. The AI uses a Dual-Engine approach: the Opportunity Engine finds growth vectors while the Risk Engine flags potential threats simultaneously. You review both perspectives before any action is taken, ensuring informed, balanced decision-making.
What is included in the Free tier?
The Free tier gives you full analytical access: 2 Business Missions, 2 Automated Actions, 2 Publishes, 1 Store Connection, 1 Document Upload, and 30 days of Business Memory. You can view every insight and risk, but execution is limited to let you test the engine.
How much does the Growth plan cost?
The Growth plan is $69 per month. It unlocks 50 Missions, 50 Automated Actions, 25 Publishes, 3 Stores, 10 Documents, 1-year Business Memory, Workflow Builder, and priority support.
How much does the Professional plan cost?
The Professional plan is $199 per month. It includes 300 Missions, 300 Actions, 100 Publishes, Unlimited Stores, 50+ Documents, Forever Memory, Autonomous Mode, Custom Agents, and priority infrastructure.
Are there any long-term contracts?
No. All plans are month-to-month. You can cancel anytime from your Settings page. There are no hidden fees or early termination penalties.
Can I switch between plans?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. If you upgrade, new features become available immediately. If you downgrade, you'll retain access to your current plan until the end of your billing cycle.
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the high computational costs of AI inference and LLM routing, we do not offer prorated refunds for partial months or unused mission credits. All subscription fees are non-refundable once the billing cycle has commenced. We encourage you to thoroughly test the Free tier before upgrading.
What happens if I hit my monthly mission limit?
You'll receive a notification in the app. You can either wait for the next billing cycle, upgrade to a higher plan, or purchase additional mission credits (available as an add-on for Growth and Professional plans).
Can I pay annually for a discount?
Currently, we offer monthly billing only. We want to keep pricing simple and flexible. We'll notify existing users if annual options become available in the future.
Do you offer custom pricing for high-volume users?
Yes. If you need more than 300 Missions per month, custom infrastructure, or dedicated resources, please contact us via the support channel for a tailored quote.
Is the Free tier just a limited trial?
It's more than a trial. It's a permanently free tier that lets you continuously monitor your business with AI. The limits are capped (2 Missions, 2 Actions) so you can experience the full analytical power without paying, and upgrade only when you need to scale execution.
What is a 'Business Mission'?
A Mission is a business objective you give to the AI—like 'optimize pricing' or 'launch a retention campaign.' The AI breaks it down, runs the Dual-Engine analysis, proposes an action plan, and executes the approved workflow.
What counts as an 'Automated Action'?
An Automated Action is an AI-driven execution on your store—such as updating a product price, running an inventory forecast, reordering stock, publishing a campaign, or syncing data across platforms. Each execution consumes one unit from your plan's quota.
What is 'Business Memory'?
Business Memory is your AI's institutional knowledge. Every mission, approved strategy, and outcome is stored. Free tier keeps 30 days of history. Growth keeps 1 year. Professional keeps everything forever—so your AI gets smarter over time and never forgets past lessons.
What does 'Autonomous Mode' do?
Available on Professional, Autonomous Mode allows the AI to execute low-risk, high-volume tasks without requiring your manual approval at every step. You set guardrails and risk thresholds, and the AI operates within those boundaries 24/7.
What are 'Custom Agents'?
Custom Agents are specialist AIs you can build and deploy using our Skills Marketplace. You can tailor agents for your specific niche—like a 'Fashion Forecasting Agent' or 'B2B Lead Scraper'—to handle unique workflows beyond our default capabilities.
What is the Workflow Builder?
The Workflow Builder (available on Growth) lets you chain multiple actions together. For example, you can create a workflow that: checks inventory → forecasts demand → automatically reorders stock → sends an alert—all triggered by a single objective.
What are Document Uploads (RAG) used for?
You can upload PDFs, reports, and internal documents. The AI uses Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to ground its decisions in your proprietary data—like sales reports, supplier contracts, or brand guidelines. This makes the AI's recommendations hyper-relevant to your specific business.
What is the Skills Marketplace?
The Skills Marketplace is where you can install pre-built specialist agents (Skills) created by the ClarityCommerce team and community developers. It's like an app store for AI capabilities—install a 'Competitor Pricing Tracker' or an 'SEO Opportunity Scanner' with one click.
Does the AI work across multiple sales channels?
Yes. With Growth (3 stores) and Professional (Unlimited), the AI can sync pricing, inventory, and campaigns across Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, and Squarespace simultaneously. It ensures consistency and prevents overselling.
How does the AI handle 'Proactive Alerts'?
The AI continuously monitors your store events (stock levels, price changes, customer churn signals). When it detects an anomaly—like a stockout risk or a sudden price drop from a competitor—it immediately surfaces a Proactive Alert with a suggested mitigation strategy, prompting you to approve or reject the automated response.
Is my business data secure?
Absolutely. We use multi-tenant PostgreSQL with Row-Level Security (RLS), ensuring your data is completely isolated from every other tenant. Even our backend services cannot cross tenant boundaries without explicit JWT authorization.
Does ClarityCommerce train its AI models on my data?
Never. We enforce strict zero-data-retention agreements with our LLM providers (OpenRouter). Your business data, Commerce Memory, and Knowledge Graph are used exclusively for your own operations and are never used to train public or shared AI models.
What is the 'Governance Gate'?
The Governance Gate is a human-in-the-loop approval layer. Before the AI executes any medium or high-risk action (like changing prices or launching a campaign), you must explicitly approve it via the dashboard or email. This ensures you always have final authority.
What are OPA Guardrails?
OPA (Open Policy Agent) Guardrails are automated safety checks built into the system. Every tool call (e.g., updating inventory) is evaluated against a set of business policies—like 'price cannot drop by more than 50%'—to prevent costly mistakes or unauthorized actions. All guardrail decisions are audited for full accountability.
Do you comply with GDPR / CCPA?
Yes. As a data processor, we provide full data export, correction, and deletion capabilities. You can export all your data in JSON format from the Settings page, or permanently delete your account and all associated data with a single click.
Where is my data stored?
Your data is stored in a secure, cloud-hosted PostgreSQL database (with pgvector for AI embeddings) and Neo4j for graph relationships. All infrastructure is hosted on major cloud providers (AWS / Render) with enterprise-grade encryption at rest and in transit.
Can I delete my data after canceling?
Yes. After cancellation, your data is retained for 30 days in case you wish to reactivate. After that period, all data—including missions, graph nodes, documents, and connections—is permanently and irreversibly purged from our systems.
Who has access to my store API keys?
Your API keys are encrypted at rest and scoped exclusively to your tenant. They are used only to perform the automated actions you approve. They are never exposed to other users, and we never store them in plain text.
Is there an audit log of AI decisions?
Yes. Every significant AI action, guardrail decision, and human approval is logged with a full audit trail. You can review the 'Audit Logs' tab in your Settings to see exactly what happened, why it happened, and who approved it.
Which e-commerce platforms do you support?
We currently support Shopify, WooCommerce, Wix, Magento, and Squarespace. Our Multi-Platform MCP server allows you to manage all of them from a single command center.
How do I connect my store?
Navigate to Settings > Stores. Select your platform, enter your store URL and API credentials, and click 'Connect & Test'. The system will validate the connection and, on success, start synchronizing data for AI analysis.
Can I connect multiple stores of the same platform?
Yes. You can connect multiple Shopify stores, multiple WooCommerce sites, etc. Each connection counts towards your store limit: Free (1), Growth (3), Professional (Unlimited).
What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP)?
MCP is an open standard that allows AI agents to communicate with external tools and platforms. We use it to decouple the AI logic from the specific store APIs, making it easier to add new integrations without rewriting the agent's core logic.
Do you offer a REST API?
Yes. We provide a fully documented REST API. You can generate API keys from your Settings page. The API allows you to trigger missions, fetch insights, and sync data programmatically.
Can I build my own custom integrations?
Absolutely. Our Developer Platform (coming soon) will allow you to build custom connectors and skills using our MCP framework. For now, our engineering team can assist with bespoke integrations for Enterprise clients.
How do I get started with the Free tier?
Simply sign up with your email, and you'll be taken to the Onboarding Wizard. The wizard will ask about your business type and risk tolerance, then auto-generate your first suggested missions. You can start analyzing immediately without a credit card.
Do I need to connect my store immediately?
No. You can explore the AI's analytical capabilities without connecting a store. However, to run real-world missions (like pricing optimization or inventory forecasting), connecting your store unlocks the full power of the platform.
How long does the onboarding take?
Less than 3 minutes. After signing up, the Onboarding Wizard walks you through three quick steps—defining your business persona, setting your risk tolerance, and choosing your first auto-generated mission.
What happens during my first AI mission?
You state an objective (e.g., 'Optimize pricing'). The AI runs the Dual-Engine analysis, streams live thoughts (Opportunity & Risk), presents a strategy via the Governance Gate, and (if you approve) executes the action using our specialist agents.
What LLM powers the Executive AI?
We use a high-performance routing layer (OpenRouter) that provides access to industry-leading models like Llama 3.3 70B, Claude, and GPT. The routing engine selects the best model for each specific task (analysis, planning, execution).
How does the AI handle hallucinations or errors?
We mitigate this through three layers: 1) Guardrails prevent invalid actions (e.g., price set to $0). 2) The Governance Gate requires your approval before execution. 3) A robust audit trail allows you to trace every decision back to the original prompt and context.
What is the uptime guarantee?
We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not currently offer a formal SLA. Our infrastructure is built on redundant cloud services, and we provide priority infrastructure support for Professional users to ensure minimal downtime.
How are specialist agents run?
Each specialist agent (e.g., Pricing Agent, Inventory Forecaster) runs as an ephemeral container. The agent spins up on-demand for the duration of a mission, performs its tasks using MCP tools, and terminates immediately after completion—ensuring security and cost-efficiency.
Is the platform open source?
ClarityCommerce is a commercial software product. However, we actively contribute to open-source AI standards (like MCP and AG-UI) and may open-source certain non-core components in the future to foster community innovation.
What support do you offer?
Free tier users get community support via our forums. Growth users receive priority email support with a 24-hour response window. Professional users get the fastest priority support, strategy sessions on request, and a dedicated technical point of contact.
What should I do if a mission fails to execute?
Check the technical logs in the Missions tab—they show the exact step where the failure occurred. Common reasons include expired API credentials, rate limits from your store, or OPA Guardrail blocks. If you can't resolve it, contact support with the mission ID.
Where can I ask questions or suggest new features?
You can reach out via email at contact@nitishkumar.pro. We actively monitor feedback and prioritize feature requests that benefit our merchant community.
